This
organization began in 1969 as a class to prepare freshman for
leadership roles within the university.
A
course where you develop personal leadership skills,
learn to adjust
to college and receive three semester credit hours is an
extraordinary
experience called Freshman Leadership Class. This unique
course is
offered to incoming freshmen students who have the
desire to further
enhance their leadership skills. Students are taught
skills that are
beneficial during and after college. Students play vital
roles in the
planning and implementation of the university's
traditions.
The
fall semester of the course is geared toward developing
personal
leadership skills and achieving academic success.
Additionally, students
work in collaboration with university administrators and
community
leaders on major city community service projects. The
spring semester
focuses on providing hands-on experience for leading
organizations,
boards and small groups. Students will learn how to work
with other
leaders around campus to create a pleasant experience
for all A&M
Commerce students.
Freshmen Leadership Class is a great opportunity for
students who are or
want to be leaders and to acquire invaluable leadership
skills. Students are
thrust into campus leadership positions.
